Santa Sleigh

The Rotary Santa Sleigh can be seen cruising the streets of The Gap from 6.00-8.00pm for several nights prior to Christmas.

The Santa Sleigh has been a tradition in the Gap for over 40 years, and is a major Rotary project involving about 15 volunteers each night. Local families are generous in their support, and 100% of funds raised are used for community projects.

Santa delights the kids as he sits up on his “throne” talking to the children and distributing lollies and stickers. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for the latest Santa Sleigh news, or just listen out for the Christmas music between 6.00pm and 8.00pm each night!

Community and business support makes the Santa Sleigh possible. Subway The Gap feeds Santa and his team, while local St John’s Wood Rover crews and other supporters help Santa on his run.

Santa tries hard not to disappoint anyone, but safety is our priority and The Gap keeps getting bigger. The Sleigh can’t travel down every street and sometimes the weather sends Santa and his elves home early! Please keep this in mind, and remember that Santa and his elves are all volunteers.

The Santa Sleigh is a lot of fun for all concerned, especially when the community joins in, and the donations provide some very useful funds for Rotary community projects.
